Graduate School Program

The graduate program was established in 1999 to spearhead the effort to produce the finest English education professionals for the 21st century. The graduate program offers a curriculum that facilitates the learning, studying, and researching of educational theories and practices in the field of English education.

Our Mission

Our program offers students advanced classes and field experience opportunities to broaden and deepen students' knowledge of English education. Through the curriculum, the graduate program strives to develop new theories and methods in the field of English Education.

MA Program

Our MA program strives to maintain a balance between theory and practice by offering courses that focus on the linguistic, psychological, sociocultural, and practical aspects of language learning and teaching. We also seek to cultivate in our students the ability to understand and critically evaluate current research findings to inform their own professional practices.

PhD Program

The PhD program aims to promote significant and innovative research that has an impact on not only scholarly understandings of language learning, analysis, and use, but also educational matters such as language assessment, teaching methodologies, and technology. The courses in the program are organized into four areas of specialization: Teaching English as a Foreign Language, Applied Linguistics, Multimedia Assisted Language Learning.

Career & Destination

After receiving master's and doctoral degrees, students can choose from a wide range of career options. Our alumni assume key positions in teaching (both public and private sectors in Korea and abroad), administration, research, evaluation, curriculum/ program development, and teacher education.
